BRC - British Retail Consortium

The BRC Global Standard for Food Safety is a product and process certification standard known for compliance to industry best practices. BRC certification is an internationally recognized mark of food safety and quality. Certification is achieved by undertaking a third-party audit against Standard requirements by an accredited certification body (CB). BRC rates CBs on their technical performance and efficiency in customer service. 

BRC Food Safety Certification is beneficial for:

• Finished Food Manufacturers (branded & unbranded products)
• Raw material and ingredient suppliers
• Packers of primary products (e.g. fruit & vegetables)

HACCP - Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point 

HACCP is an internationally recognized system for reducing the risk of safety hazards in food.

Building a HACCP System requires that both Prerequisite Programs and HACCP Plans are implemented.

Prerequisite programs are programs that are put in place in the facility to control hazards in the environment, preventing contamination of the product. Prerequisite programs ensure a hygienic environment, and good manufacturing processes for personnel that reduce the risk of contamination of the food product.

HACCP Plans are prepared for each process or product, and identify possible hazards and controls in place to make sure the hazards are eliminated or controlled to ensure acceptable levels in the food product.

A HACCP System requires that potential hazards are identified and controlled at specific points in the process. This includes biological, chemical or physical hazards.Any company involved in the manufacturing, processing or handling of food products can use HACCP to minimize or eliminate food safety hazards in their product.

FSSC - Food Safety System Certification

The Foundation Food Safety System Certification 22000 (FSSC 22000) offers a complete certification Scheme for the auditing and certification of Food Safety Management Systems (FSMS) or FSMS and Quality Management Systems (FSSC 22000-Quality).The Scheme uses international and independent standards such as ISO 22000, ISO 9001, ISO/TS 22003 and technical specifications for sector specific Pre-Requisite Programs (PRPs), such as  ISO/TS 22002-1. These standards were developed through a wide and open consultation with a large number of international stakeholders. Besides these standards, the Scheme contains so-called FSSC Additional Requirements.

SEDEX - Supplier Ethical Data Exchange

SEDEX is non profuit organization. Under which, SMETA (Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit) is conducted. 

A SMETA 2-pillar audit comprises the following modules:

GMP - Good Manufacturing Practice

Good manufacturing practice (GMP) is a system for ensuring that products are consistently produced and controlled according to quality standards. It is designed to minimize the risks involved in any pharmaceutical production that cannot be eliminated through testing the final product. The main risks are: unexpected contamination of products, causing damage to health or even death; incorrect labels on containers, which could mean that patients receive the wrong medicine; insufficient or too much active ingredient, resulting in ineffective treatment or adverse effects. GMP covers all aspects of production; from the starting materials, premises and equipment to the training and personal hygiene of staff. Detailed, written procedures are essential for each process that could affect the quality of the finished product. There must be systems to provide documented proof that correct procedures are consistently followed at each step in the manufacturing process - every time a product is made. WHO has established detailed guidelines for good manufacturing practice. Many countries have formulated their own requirements for GMP based on WHO GMP. We provide consultancy & certification services for the same.

GDP - Good Distribution Practice

Good distribution practice (GDP) describes the minimum standards that a wholesale distributor must meet to ensure that the quality and integrity of medicines is maintained throughout the supply chain.

Compliance with GDP ensures that:

• Medicines in the supply chain are authorised in accordance with European Union (EU) legislation;
• Medicines are stored in the right conditions at all times, including during transportation;
• Contamination by or of other products is avoided;
• An adequate turnover of stored medicines takes place;
• The right products reach the right addressee within a satisfactory time period.

The distributor should also put in place a tracing system to enable finding faulty products and an effective recall procedure.

GDP also applies to the sourcing, storage and transportation of active pharmaceutical ingredients and other ingredients used in the production of the medicines. 

NABH - National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers

National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers (NABH) is a constituent board of Quality Council of India, set up to establish and operate accreditation programme for healthcare organisations. the board is structured to cater to much desired needs of the consumers and to set benchmarks for progress of health industry. The board while being supported by all stakeholders including industry, consumers, government, have full functional autonomy in its operation.

NABL - National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories

National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL), a Constituent Board of Quality Council of India has been established with the objective of providing Government, Industry Associations and Industry in general with a scheme of Conformity Assessment Body’s accreditation which involves third-party assessment of the technical competence of testing including medical and calibration laboratories, proficiency testing providers and reference material producers.

CDSCO (Central Drugs Standard Control Organization)

CDSCO is the Indian regulatory body for pharmaceuticals and medical devices, drugs & Cosmetics in India, for clinical trials as well as for providing expert advice on health issues and the enforcement of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act. We offer consultancy services for grant of licenses and registration provided by CDSCO.

FSSAI (Food Safety and Standards Authority of India)

FSSAI has been established under Food Safety and Standards,  which consolidates various acts & orders that have hitherto handled food related issues in various Ministries and Departments. FSSAI has been created for laying down science based standards for articles of food and to regulate their manufacture, storage, distribution, sale and import to ensure availability of safe and wholesome food for human consumption. Trade Mark

A Trade Mark is any mark which can be graphically represented affixed to any goods or services for the purpose of identifying, distinguishing and indicating the source of origin of the goods/services of a trader or manufacturer as the case may be. This mark may be a name, symbol, or a combination of thereof. A trademark once applied and registered, exists in perpetuity subject to periodic renewal and use of the mark in respect of the goods or services for which it is registered and used.

Copyright

A Copyright is a form of protection provided to the authors of "original works of authorship" including literary, dramatic, musical, artistic, and certain other intellectual works, both published and unpublished. A copyright protects the form of expression rather than the subject matter of the writing. The Copyright Office handles copyright registrations. Owners of copyrighted works seeking protection in other countries should first determine the extent of protection available to works of foreign authors in that country.

BIS Registration

BIS is a national body that operates a product certification scheme to maintain quality, safety, and reliability of products in India. The BIS certification is not a uniform standard or directive that applies to all products. Instead, products are regulated by a specific IS (Indian Standard). BIS Registration is mandatory for all electronics and IT Good as per Govt. Guidelines. Without BIS Registration no person can manufacture, import notified electronic & IT Goods. 

BIS Hallmark

The BIS Hallmark is a hallmarking system for gold as well as silver jewellery sold in India; certifying the purity of the metal. It certifies that the piece of jewellery conforms to a set of standards laid by the Bureau of Indian Standards, the national standards organization of India. India is the second biggest market for gold and its jewellery

AGMARK

AGMARK is a Product certification mark employed on agricultural products in India, assuring that they conform to a set of standards approved by the Directorate of Marketing and Inspection, an agency of the Government of India. Some agricultural & animal based products are mandatory to be AGMARK certified.

APEDA (Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority)

APEDA is a government organization through an act for the development and promotion of export of scheduled products, it provides financial assistance, information, guidelines towards the development of scheduled products. The products specified under the APEDA ACT are called schedule products and exporters of such scheduled products are required register under APEDA. We offer consultancy services to obtain RCMC Registration for Agricultural products & NPOP Certification for Organic Products from APEDA approved agency.

NSIC Registration (National Small Industries Corporation

The Government is the single largest buyer of a variety of goods & Services. With a view to increase the share of purchases from the small-scale sector, the Government Stores Purchase Programme was launched in 1955-56. NSIC registers Micro & small Enterprises (MSEs) under Single Point Registration scheme (SPRS) for participation in Government Purchases. We offer consultancy services to obtain NSIC Registration.
